Ring to Spring 2012 will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 with clinician Dr. Larry Smith.

Guest conductor Larry SmithPhiladelphia Handbell Ensemble again presents Ring to Spring, a daylong handbell festival that includes massed ringing, coaching sessions, classes, a reading session and a public concert. Dr. Larry Smith of the University of Southern Mississippi's Carillon Handbell Choir will be our guest conductor.

Location: Eastern High School, 1401 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees, NJ

Time: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (public concert begins at 4:30 PM)

Registration: $105 per choir or $20 per ringer, postmarked by Feb. 15, 2012
Early Bird Registration: $95 per choir, postmarked by Jan. 30, 2012

This event is endorsed by the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (Handbell Musicians of America), therefore you or your organization must be a member to participate. Learn about joining AGEHR.

Our Conductor

Dr. Larry Smith, lyric baritone and professor of music, is the voice professor and director of the Carillon Handbell Choir at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Dr. Smith is also the Director of Music at the First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

An active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, Dr. Smith serves as a conductor, clinician, and adjudicator both nationally and internationally, and also performs as vocal soloist in recital and oratorio.

Music and Workshops

All repertoire can be played by 3, 4, or 5 octave choirs. Partial choirs and individual ringers are also welcome. Please purchase and rehearse the repertoire prior to attending and be ready to "fine tune" it under the expert direction of Dr. Larry Smith. All music can be purchased from Jeffers Handbell Supply.

More information on coaching sessions and classes will be sent to you. Members of Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble will be the clinicians.

Handbell merchandise will be available from Handbell Services. Lunch will be for sale at the festival for a small fee. You may also bring your own lunch.
