OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Ron Bellamy began ringing handbells in 1979, and has been a performer and clinician for Handbell Exploration, the Handbell Musicians of America (HMA), and Solo/Ensemble Extravaganza. A former member of the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble (PHE), he is also a solo handbell artist, was the solo ringing clinician at the 2019 HMA National Seminar in St. Louis, and was the featured soloist at the 2023 HMA Area 2 Seminar in Lancaster, PA . Ron is presently directing two handbell choirs at two Lancaster area churches, and he has directed the Bucknell University Rooke Chapel Ringers on several occasions in Dr. William Payn's absence. He has conducted several massed ringing festivals, including the Nittany Valley Handbell Festival, the Webster NY ChallengeRing and the Western PA Handbell Festival.  A graduate of the University of Scranton and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, his full-time employment is in the field of accounting and finance. Ron is married to Linda Lorgus, church music and handbell editor for J.W.Pepper.  They met while ringing for PHE!
